Ensuring you have the right instructor and are comfortable with all aspects of your training is at the heart of what we do. We are fully committed to providing an excellent standard of tuition that is envied by other driving schools. We have instructors up and down the country who are dedicated to their role of making people’s dreams come true. We teach you drive in a safe and professional atmosphere applying courtesy and respect at every point. We take the safety and well-being of all our pupils very seriously which is why you will be taught by some of the best instructors in the country.
You may or may not be aware that all instructors can agree to being observed and graded by someone from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). This is quite scary for the instructors as they are being observed doing something they’ve done for years in some cases and so their professional reputation is on the line. Our instructors are so confident that their skills and tuition are to a high standard that all of our instructors are examined by an examiner. Not only does it help them continually provide this high standard of professional tuition but it gives our pupils the confidence that they are being taught by the best.
We can offer a wide range learning packages that suit your individual needs. You may be concerned that your nerves may get in the way or that you would prefer a female driving instructor. Whatever your personal preferences or needs are we are here to help as much as we can. You also have a preference when it comes to the type of vehicle you wish to learn in. We have both automatic and manual cars to learn in. Automatic cars are very useful to our more nervous drivers and those with additional physical needs. Automatic cars do not have a clutch and so they remove the need for changing gear. This, as you can imagine takes a lot of stress and worry out of driving and very much eases the pressure on left ankle. No more stopping and starting aches and pains!
Teaching you how to drive is our passion and we like to do this adopting a fun approach. Let’s face it, we all learn quicker if we’re enjoying what we’re doing. Being able to drive is a huge skill, one that will open doors for you and stay with you for a very long time. Not only will you be tested on your practical driving skills like how you get the car moving, negotiating traffic lanes and signals etc. you will also be tested on the theory of driving too. This test includes a hazard perception test and scenarios where you’ll test your observation skills.
Your instructor will help you with those things as well and to add to the support we provide on hazard perception we have analysed some collision data which you may find helpful. You may think this is a strange thing to do for a driving school but we see it as a valuable tool in helping you negotiate tricky local junctions and being able to build up your confidence in readiness for travelling alone.
The data we have looked at gives us an idea of where a large number of accidents occur in the local area. In Sutton Coldfield, the Birmingham Road (A5127) is littered with collisions for the length of the road. Particularly high numbers of accidents on that road were reported at the junctions of Holland Street, Queen Street, Duke Street and While Road. In addition, there is a very busy junction at Jockey Road which again crosses the Birmingham Road.
There are heavy traffic loads on the Chester Road and making sure you are in the correct lane there for turning is imperative. Other junctions to watch out for are those at Penns Lane (A4148) and Beech Hill Road and Penns Lane and Eachelhurst Road. There are a high number of collisions reported at both of those spots.
Finally, the Kingsbury Road (A38) island with Walmley Ash Road and the (A4097) can cause issues. Again, make sure you are familiar with the lane routes. If you know you are going to use any of these routes regularly, it may be wise to ask your instructor if he or she will take you around them a few times. That way, you can apply the required due care and attention and it could help you avoid an accident.
