Hi my name is Gordon
I am a driving instructor with Andy1st Driving School which I love very much. I enjoy getting out and about meeting new people. I believe the best way to help anyone learn to become a happy, safe and confident driver is to offer calm and relaxed lessons, progressing at your speed and to make it enjoyable.
You will receive 100% one to one from me all the time. My goal will be to get you to test standard naturally, have you pass the test and hopefully recommend me to family and friends. I will be happy knowing I have helped to put another safe and confident driver on the road.
I specialize in nervous pupils, I offer patience and understanding, I enjoy my job and am more than happy teaching people from age 17 to 60+.
My car is kept clean and tidy, a Ford Fiesta, 1.5 diesel manual which is a great size car, not too small and not too big, excellent for learning to drive in and is ideal for bay parking, parallel parking and turn in the road manoeuvres. The car has power steering and good all round vision which is essential and are able to get great clutch control with a diesel car.
I am based in Bewdley near the Wyre Forest. I cover all the surrounding areas: Kidderminster, Stourport, North Worcestershire and parts of Shropshire.
Thank you for your interest. I hope to be meeting you soon.
So, you’ve taken the first step in the exciting journey of learning to drive! Well, you won’t regret it and you certainly won’t regret choosing Andy1st to help you learn! We are so pleased you have taken time out to look at what we offer and how we can help. We are one of the fastest growing driving schools in the country offering a wide range of lesson plans and learning packages to meet all of our pupils’ needs. We are competitive in our pricing but we do not scrimp on the standard of tuition we provide.
Your first contact with us will be through our administration staff who will take your personal details and other information and match you with an instructor who is in your local area. The instructor will contact you and assess how much experience and knowledge you already have. That information proves imperative to them in order to plan your lessons and overall learning package. They will arrange a mutually convenient date and time and your lessons will commence. We provide weekly lessons or you can choose an intensive course. Your instructor will assess you to see which course would be most suited to you.
We ensure our instructors are of the highest standard, trustworthy and reliable. They must undergo rigorous training and regular observations by the Driving Standards Agency to ensure our high standard is maintained. They provide lessons at a time and from a place that is convenient to you ensuring you can easily fit driving lessons into your busy life. So, whether you are looking to learn whilst the kids are at school, at the weekend when you’re not working or in the evenings, we can arrange it so it suits you.
We specialise in teaching those people who find the whole driving experience rather nerve-racking. Our instructors are patient and kind and will never get agitated if you make a mistake. They assess you beforehand and get a firm idea as to the pace and the style in which you learn. They then design a package that is right and specific to you. Not only will they teach you the basics of learning to drive, they will also highlight observational techniques and teach you how to identify hazards on the roads. These vital skills will help keep you safe on the today’s busy roads.
Being able to drive offers freedom and flexibility and a huge sense of accomplishment and pride. It allows you to travel to places you haven’t been, it means not having to wait for public transport and you no longer have to rely on others for a lift! It can open doors for you in terms of getting a job as many employers ask for candidates to hold a full, clean driving licence these days. However you choose to learn and for whatever reason, we know we can help.
One of the many things we do to help both our instructors and our pupils is to look at the local area and point out any tricky junctions or accident hotspots. Now this may sound a strange thing for a driving school to do and we don’t want this to scare you in any way but it is something that many of our pupils have found useful. By highlighting areas where there are a number of collisions you and your instructor can spend valuable time practising them and becoming accomplished at negotiating them. They may form a part of a regular route for you and so extra care and attention needs to be paid. This is exactly why we point out these areas so that you have prior knowledge and the time to spend familiarising yourself with them.
In Bewdley, the majority of collisions have occurred close to the Bewdley Museum near Load Street. If you are driving in and around that area, remember to adopt more care and attention. In addition, the B4190 into Wribenhall has a raft of collisions dotted along it. Again, it may be prudent to familiarise yourself with that route and build confidence in readiness for travelling along there alone. Finally, Bewdley Hill (A456) can cause issues too so watch you speed and drive carefully especially close to where the Scout Camp site is.
