Welcome to Andy1st driving school in Tower Hamlets. We can provide you with an extraordinary standard of tuition at competitive prices and at a time that is convenient to you. We have both male and female driving instructors and can teach in both manual and automatic transmission cars. Our cars are maintained to a very high standard and are safe, reliable and comfortable. Our aim is to help you learn to drive at a pace and in a style that you are comfortable with. We pride ourselves on the excellent standard of our lesson packages and our pass rates too.
The best way to learn to drive is to take professional lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). All of our driving instructors are ADIs and are continually monitored to ensure the industry standards are upheld. Some people like to have additional private practice perhaps being taken out by a parent or friend. This does help the pupil to practise what they have been taught in their professional lessons. Getting practice on the roads that you are likely to travel down regularly is a sensible thing to do and we will cover this later.
It’s a worrying statistic but as soon as a learner driver passes their driving test, rips up the L plates and begins to drive unsupervised, their risk of crashing increases dramatically. However, research shows that the more overall driving experience learners can obtain, the safer they are likely to be. This is why we offer the PassPlus course which is a set of 6 lessons which cover a range of driving situations that may never have been encountered in your lessons. You will gain experience in driving in bad weather, on the motorway and on country lanes. Once you are then in the car on your own, you’re more equipped to deal with any situation.
You can learn to drive in a variety of ways but speed is not necessarily the key. Some people need to learn at a slower, more methodical pace and spread the cost of their lessons. For them, a “pay as you go” type of arrangement will be suitable. There are instances where some of our pupils have needed to pass in a short period of time due to a job requiring a full licence for example. If this is the case and after discussions and an assessment with your instructor, you may benefit from taking one of the intensive courses which could see you learn and pass in as little as a week!
You will learn valuable driving and life skills from your lessons with us. We will obviously teach you the basics needed to drive a car but you will learn so much more besides. We will teach you hazard perception skills, observational techniques and we will work on increasing your confidence which are all vital things to know when driving on our busy roads today. One of the things we do to try and keep our new drivers safe is to analyse local data and highlight areas where there have been a higher than average number of collisions. Now, this is may seem like quite a strange thing for a driving school to do but it has proved very valuable to instructors and pupils alike.
When looking at the data for Tower Hamlets it appears that there are a few roads that have a huge number of collisions recorded with varying degrees of severity. We will pinpoint these areas so that you and your instructor can practice along these routes and as we’ve touched on before, get as much experience of them as possible. Only by improving your familiarity of those areas and becoming adept in those areas will you be able to approach with caution and feel confident driving on them.
So, we have a very large number of collisions recorded on all stretches of the A11 , Mile End Road, in particular the junctions of Merchant Street and Grove Road (A1205). Where the A1205 continues and meets the A13 and A1261 is also littered with accidents. Paying particular attention at these spots and making sure you are in the correct lane are imperative. St. Paul’s Way (B140) where it meets Bow Common Lane and the Burdett Road are junctions to watch too. Again, there are a whole heap of collisions happening on those stretches of road. Finally, again involving the Burdett Road, the junction of Thomas Road is another one where extra care and attention should be applied.
