Hi there and welcome to Andy1st driving school in Shoreditch. We specialise in delivering excellent driving instruction to all of our pupils regardless of the level of experience they have or how nervous they are. We have highly trained instructors who have studied long and hard and are qualified in line with the industry-led guidelines. We have both male and female instructors and can provide lessons in both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
How you choose to learn to drive is up to you but you can be assure that when you learn with us you will get a whole lot more than simply learning the basics of learning to drive. We concentrate on teaching you how to stay safe on the roads by building up your confidence, making you aware of possible hazards and teaching you valuable observation techniques.
A good driver must always be responsible for their actions whilst driving. Making snap and safe decisions is crucial for your safety and the safety of other road users. Concentration plays a big hand in that and that is why you should listen carefully to your instructor and the valuable advice they give you. Being able to anticipate what’s going to happen in a certain situation is a great skill to have. Having the hazard awareness knowledge will help you to execute this. We highlight further on details of roads and junctions local to you that have a high number of collisions reported on them. This is so you can go into those tricky situations learn how to assess the situation, stay calm and make the right decision. More about that in a while.
Our driving instructors are patient, helpful and professional. They will pick you up at the agreed time and won’t have anyone else in the car with them. They can pick you up from a place that is convenient to you and at a time that suits you. We can provide lessons at weekends, in the evenings or daytime. We believe in making learning to drive accessible for all which is why our flexibility allows you to fit driving into your busy life.
We also strongly believe in delivering a learning package that is tailored to you as an individual. We don’t believe in teaching everyone in the same way. We all learn at different paces and in different ways and this is why we have found that a “one size fits all” style of tuition isn’t as successful. Time and money isn’t wasted on going over and over things you already know but instead extra attention is paid to the parts of driving where you need more support.
Some people prefer to take their lessons methodically and at an even pace which is why they opt for the weekly lessons. These can be booked in a block at a discounted rate. It helps spread the cost of learning but takes a bit longer. If your instructors thinks you’re suitable, they may suggest you taking an intensive course. These are great for those needing to learn quickly but they are what they say, intense! You will need to do a lot of driving in a short space of time. We also offer a PassPlus course for newly qualified drivers. The course covers situations which you may not have experienced in your lessons. The course was designed by the Government in an attempt to reduce the number of accidents involving new drivers and it has worked.
In the Shoreditch area, the hotspots to look out for are as follows:
The A5201 has a large number of collisions all the way along but particular attention should be paid to the City Road area, close to Old Street Stations where there’s a huge traffic island. This seems to cause problems for lots of drivers and a very high number of collisions are reported here. Getting practice and help from your instructor is key as it will give you the confidence to tackle these areas with confidence.
The B101 where it meets Murray Grove is another one to watch as that junction also has a large number of collisions reported at it.
Take extra care on Shoreditch High Street, A1208 and on the A1200, Mintern Street.
This data is not meant to scare you, it’s simply there to help while you are getting used to your local area and for you to gain experience whilst you have an expert beside you!
