Andy1st driving school has been helping people learn to drive and pass their test for a number of years now. We have taught some wonderful people and helped even the most nervous of drivers. Our commitment and dedication to our work is clear as we continue to provide the best tuition at competitive prices. We treat all of our pupils as individuals and tailor make bespoke learning packages which suit any time or budget constraints you may have.
Our professional and sensitive instructors help you every step of the way. They will not only guide you through the practical test but they will also support you with your theory test as well. Obviously you will be taught the basics of learning to drive and getting the car moving but you will learn much more besides. We strongly believe in giving “a little bit extra” and we do this by focusing on building your confidence and helping you become more observant and aware of the hazards around you. These are valuable skills required for staying safe on the roads today.
We have both male and female instructors and can provide lessons in both manual and automatic cars. We are available for lessons 7 days a week plus evenings so it makes it easier for you to fit learning to drive into your busy life. We have the traditional method of learning whereby you take weekly lessons that will help you spread the cost of learning or you can take an intensive course which involves a lot of driving but over a short period of time. The way in which we learn differs immensely depending on experience, confidence and learning style and so discussions and assessments with your instructor will help ascertain the right kind of course for you.
All of our instructors have passed the rigorous training required by the Driving Standards Agency. They are also regularly observed and monitored to ensure the high standards are maintained. They are all Approved Driving Instructors and they keep their cars in excellent condition too. We believe in making driving accessible for all and to this end we are very happy to discuss any additional needs you may have.
Most drivers will tell you that the real learning starts when the L plates come off and you are out there on your own. You no longer have the comfort and security of your instructor telling you where to go and what to do. Your quick reactions and decisions are paramount and you will need to put everything you’ve learned to the test. We run a Pass Plus course for those pupils who have just passed their test which helps build up experience and confidence on the road. The course has been designed by the Driving Standards Agency in conjunction with various insurance and driving instruction providers and has been proven to lower the risk of new drivers being involved in road traffic collisions. The course consists of 6 hour long lessons which cover motorway driving, dual carriageways, adverse weather conditions, country roads, night driving and busier town driving. Not only will you gain valuable experience, you could save a considerable amount on the cost of your car insurance. The course should be taken within the first year of achieving your full licence and we strongly recommend all newly qualified drivers take this opportunity.
We also analyse collision data in an attempt to help reduce further accidents on our roads. By highlighting the hotspots we have identified to both pupils and instructors, we can help tackle tricky local junctions. By being forewarned you can prepare and practice with your instructor in order to build up your confidence. This will help when driving those routes alone. Here are some of the spots we have noted in the Cambridge Heath area.
The vast majority of accidents in and around the Cambridge Heath area happen on the Cambridge Heath Road. The whole stretch is littered with accidents of varying severity. Particular junctions to watch out for are where the Cambridge Heath Road meets the B127, the A1209, Hackney Road and Old Bethnal Green Road.
Please ensure that you pay particular attention in these areas and practice whenever you can. The experience will be valuable.
