Andy1st Driving

Andy1st driving school is here to help you with every aspect of driving. From your initial enquiry to your practical test, we’ll be here, right by your side. We will teach you the basics you will need to become a safe and confident driver. We place an awful lot of emphasis on not only being able to move the car but also on how you can stay safe and avoid accidents. Being in control of a powerful car is a huge responsibility as is the safety of you, your passengers and other road users. That is why you should learn vital skills to help keep ours roads and yourself safe.

Your expert instructor will get to know you and find out how you learn. We all learn in very different ways and so we tailor your lessons to suit you. We also know that finding time to fit in lessons is a struggle sometimes as life is so busy, that is why we offer flexible lesson times to help provide tuition for anyone who wants it. We believe in making driving accessible for all and understand that that means meeting pupils’ individual needs. That is why we provide lessons in both manual and automatic cars and have both male and female driving instructors.

We provide support for both the theory and practical tests and after you’ve passed your test. Our instructors are friendly, professional and reliable and are passionate about what they do. We can offer regular weekly lessons or for those who need to learn quickly, we offer intensive driving courses. You can book in a block or just on an ad hoc basis. We can provide advice on all areas of driving and can provide further training even after you’ve passed your test.

The Pass Plus course takes you on 6 lessons which provide experience in driving in the dark, in bad weather and on the motorway to mention just a few. The purpose of the course is to further improve your driving, build up your confidence and provide guidance and support in areas of driving you may not have experienced before. This course helps reduce the number of accidents on our roads involving new drivers and improves road safety. We are committed to this initiative and support the Government in this scheme.

We also provide our pupils with local collision data. Sounds scary huh?! Not so! We provide this information so that you and your instructor can note these hotspots and instead of avoiding them, practice them! These routes may be on your way to work or where your family live so avoiding them is not an option. However, extra care and attention may need to be applied as these particular roads pose issues or include tricky junctions. We hope you find this information useful – it should help you stay safe on our roads.

In the Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham, Church Lane has a raft of collisions recorded there. Whether it’s the sheer volume of traffic or the number of traffic signals on that road, it’s difficult to say but it would be prudent to apply plenty of care and attention when driving on that stretch of road. Church Lane leads onto Wellington Road and at the island where it joins Hamstead Road and Handsworth Wood Road there are many accidents reported here.

In addition, the junction of Hamstead Road and Church Hill Road is also littered with reported accidents. Please also pay particular attention to the junction of Handsworth Wood Road and Worlds End Road. Over the past 12 years of collecting this data, this junction continues to be the scene of many accidents.

It goes without saying that you should drive safely and carefully wherever you are but we hope that by identifying these areas, you might be able to apply extra care and stay safer on your local roads.
