Hello and welcome to Andy1st driving school. We have been providing an excellent standard of driving tuition for nearly 10 years now and continue to use the feedback provided by our instructors and pupils to ensure we continue to deliver the high standards expected of us. We are very flexible and can offer instruction at different times in order for our pupils to be able to fit it in to their busy lives. We are competitive on price and have a smart and safe fleet of cars to learn in. You will be taught by some of the best instructors in the country and to help meet any specific needs we have both male and female instructors and we can teach in both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
We put the safety of our instructors and our pupils at the heart of what we do. We teach the basics of how to get the car moving, how to manoeuvre around corners and how to approach traffic lights. We’ll also teach you how to park and stop in an emergency but you will get all that with any driving school. You want to find a driving school with a difference and this is where we come in. Of course you need to learn the basics and yes, these things will get you through a test but what is going to prepare you for driving on your own after the L plates have been ripped up?
Well, here at Andy1st we place a lot of importance on safety and to this end we focus on observational skills and hazard detection. The number of cars on our roads increases every year. The speed at which these vehicles travel at increases too. There are many distractions to drivers such as noisy children in the back, road works and electronic devices so staying focussed on the road is more important than ever.
It may seem like a strange thing for a driving school to do but we analyse road accident data which helps us locate where a higher than average number of crashes occur. This information is not meant to scare people or discourage you from driving in those areas or on those roads. It is merely to highlight the possible dangers and alert you to them. This will give you and your instructor time to practice on these routes and to see where those tricky places are. You will then know to apply extra care and attention when travelling that route.
So, in Aberdeen there have been quite a few collisions on George Street near the junction with Gerard’s Road. In the centre of Aberdeen Union Street is one to watch as it is littered with collisions of all types of severity but particular attention should be paid to where Union Street meets Correction Wynd. Union Street then leads into the A9013 King Street. On the bend as the roads join there are many collisions there. Please take extra care when approaching.
Potential accidents are everywhere. This is why our instructors teach you about hazard perception and how to use your observational skills. It is imperative that you know about these skills in addition to learning how to drive. Staying alert and safe on the roads will keep you mobile and safe. If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to call us and our friendly, helpful staff will assist you.
Remember, when you are learning you have an instructor there for you all of the time. The real learning starts when you’ve passed your test. So, knowing how to stay safe and spot potential dangers is going to keep you safe on the roads.
