Here at Andy1st driving school in Aberdeenshire we take pride in our business and the service we offer to our pupils. We treat everyone as an individual regardless of their needs and we tailor a learning package which reflects individual’s budget and time constraints. We firmly believe in helping anyone who wants to learn to drive to do just that which is why we have both male and female driving instructors and teach in manual and automatic transmission cars. Our cars are safe, stylish and are maintained to a very high standard.
We listen very carefully to what our pupils say and we learn from the valuable feedback they provide. We have found that if people give up their driving lessons for any reason, it’s generally down to time. Our lives are very busy these days with pressures of work, school, college and trying to fit in social time. Some people have found it hard to keep going with driving lessons simply because they can’t find the time to fit them in. This is why we aim to be as flexible as we can and provide instruction at a time and from a place that is convenient to you. That way, you can fit in a lesson straight from college or directly from dropping the kids to school.
We also offer a wide range of learning packages to suit your needs and your pocket. We can offer discounts on block bookings of lessons – a good idea if you are buying them as a present – or you can book and pay on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. You can learn methodically by taking a lesson a week and spreading the cost of learning or you can book an intensive course which could see you learning and passing your test in as quickly as a week. The choice is yours and you will work closely with your instructor to ascertain the best course for you.
The safety of our pupils and our instructors is paramount. To ensure you are prepared for driving alone after you’ve passed your test is our main focus. We analyse collision data regularly to see where accident hotspots occur, that way we can prepare and train our pupils to take extra care on those roads. This is a pro-active stance and one which people find very beneficial. We highlight potential hotspots which then allow you and your instructor to practice them and know what to look out for in those areas.
The roads around Aberdeenshire are fairly safe with a minimum number of accidents reported on them. However, please take extra care around the Burn Lane area as there are a scattering of collisions there. Another area to pay close attention to is High Street near the Inverurie Hall. If you have to travel those roads / routes, it may be prudent to practice those with your instructor and get used to travel signals and lane priorities.
We don’t do this to scare you, it’s simply because potential accidents are everywhere. We pay particular attention in our lessons to hazard perception and how to use your observational skills. If you ask family members or friends who drive, they will tell you that the scariest part is passing your test and suddenly being out there with no-one else in the car. We teach you these vital skills so that, in addition to learning how to drive, you become a safe and confident driver. Being able to drive gives you flexibility and freedom but remember, staying alert and safe on the roads will keep you flexible and free. If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to call us and our friendly, helpful staff will assist you.
